From a toddler's first check-up to grandparents' dentures, how Dental Wellness Mill Hill cares for families in NW7, with practical tips for every age.

Dental Wellness Mill Hill is a family-owned practice at 46 The Broadway, Mill Hill NW7 3LH. It is owned by siblings Dr Jay Doshi and Dr Rima Doshi, and many of our patients come as whole families, booking children, parents and grandparents together.

Babies and young children

The NHS recommends taking children to the dentist as soon as their first teeth appear, and by their first birthday at the latest. Early visits are mostly about getting used to the surroundings and giving parents advice on brushing, diet and teething. For young children:

  • start brushing as soon as the first tooth appears, twice a day
  • use a smear of fluoride toothpaste for under-threes and a pea-sized amount from three to six
  • help with or supervise brushing until about seven
  • keep sugary foods and drinks to mealtimes

We can also discuss fluoride varnish and, for older children, fissure sealants on the back teeth. More detail is on our children's dentistry page.

Teenagers

The teenage years bring their own issues: sports injuries, sugary energy drinks, braces or aligners, and wisdom teeth starting to develop. If your child plays contact sports, a properly fitted mouthguard is worth considering.

Adults

Busy working lives mean check-ups are easy to postpone. The practice is open seven days a week, with evening appointments on some weekdays, which helps if you commute via Mill Hill Broadway or Mill Hill East. Alongside check-ups and hygiene visits, we provide fillings, crowns, root canal treatment, cosmetic treatments and implants.

Older patients

With age, gum disease, dry mouth from medicines and worn or broken fillings become more common. We also help patients with dentures, from new sets to relines and implant-retained options. Our treatment rooms are on the ground floor.

Nervous patients

If you or a family member feels anxious about dental visits, let us know when booking. We can allow more time, explain each step and agree a signal for you to pause treatment. You can read more on our nervous patients page.

Finding us

We are on The Broadway, a few minutes' walk from Mill Hill Broadway Thameslink station, with several bus routes passing nearby. Families visit us from across Mill Hill, Burnt Oak, Colindale, Totteridge and Arkley.
